Not long ago we were given a small taste of how the scarlet speedster would look in his upcoming spin-off television series. All we were given was an almost basic head shot of Grant Gustin's version of The Flash. While some fans liked it, others hated it, almost all of them were drawing comparisons to not only the 1990's television series version, but also to the competition with references to Captain America and Tick being made.
Flash forward to today, and we now have an almost full look at Gustin wearing the full suit. He is crouched and ready to speed off, so it does hinder us from fully seeing the costume, but it does give enough detail for people to formulate an opinion on. Like the series from which it came from (Arrow), it does appear to be keeping with the darker tone. At least that is the vibe one may get from the darker toned red used in making the suit. I am sure, or am at least hoping they attempt to give an "explanation" in the show as to why the suit is what it is. Which is a combination of leather and heavy mesh type material. Although unlikely we would get a skintight version like the comic books (thankfully), but again may need to explain how the "bunchy" parts don't work against the character while he is running (wind resistance and all that jazz).
Overall, I am really liking what they have shown us so far. Still taking a somewhat of a "wait and see" approach as nothing else matters if this costume does "work" onscreen. I like how although the headpiece makes him look younger than he is, I do like how the suit seems to have added some "bulk" to Grant Gustin. Although Flash is a more slim member of the DC Universe, he does have some muscle tone. And Grant's smaller build is compensated with this version.
Likely be more visual peeks at what the CW has in store for this show as we get closer and closer to the premiere, including more details in regards to the story and direction of the show. So keep your eyes peeled as they could get here in a....Flash.
